This is the fourth movie in the Z-O-M-B-I-E-S franchise, following Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 3. It premiered in July 2025, and I think I must have watched it right around that time. Unfortunately, my review has been lost, so I'll just have to summarize a few of the major plot points. It won't be a proper review, and it will leave out many of the details I had in my original review. Also, I don't remember how much I liked the movie, so I can't rate it. I'm sure it was okay, but not as good as the first two movies. (Not sure if I liked it more or less than the third one.)
It takes place in the summer following all the main characters' freshman year of college. Despite attending the same college, Zed and Addison haven't seen as much of each other as they would have liked, over the past school year, because they were busy with football and cheerleading, respectively. Now, the two of them, along with Eliza and Willa, take a road trip together. They end up crashing their car, and split up to go in different directions to look for help. Zed meets a group of teenage Daywalkers, while Addison meets a group of teenage vampires. There are several important characters from each group, but the main ones are a Daywalker named Nova and a vampire named Victor, each of whom is in training to eventually become the leader of their respective peoples. And of course, their peoples are at war with each other. But Zed and Addison, along with Willa and Eliza, try to get the young folks to get along, and become "camp counselors" to them all. And of course, Nova and Victor eventually develop feelings for each other. (I don't remember whether those feelings were of romantic love or friendship, but I feel like it was probably the former. Maybe.) Anyway, there's this whole thing about a forest full of Blood Fruit, which both the Daywalkers and Vampires need, where the trees are beginning to die. So everyone has to work together to solve that problem. I really wish my old review hadn't been lost, because I'm sure at least a couple of the supporting characters had subplots that were important, but now I can't remember anything about them. And I don't know if I'll ever re-watch the movie.
As always, there are plenty of songs. And at the very end, there's a sequel hook. And I don't really know what else to say. Oh, except that in November 2025, there was a holiday music video by Nova and Victor, called "Snow Angels" (Disney+; YouTube).
