The Flacalta Effect (7:16)
IMDb; Rochée; YouTube

After a weight-loss/anti-aging drug called Flacalta becomes incredibly popular (among rich white people), its users eventually start going crazy and eating people. We see this from the perspective of two Black sisters, Keesha and Toya, who are trapped in their house. Toya is an optimist who wants to leave and find someplace safe, while Keesha is more of a realist/pessimist. She isn't sure there's much to live for, anyway, considering how bad society was before the zombie apocalypse, especially for Black people. The short is reasonably amusing, but is also a more serious commentary on at least a couple aspects of American culture, as well as a bit of a character study between the two sisters. I wouldn't say it's super deep, but at least it's a bit deeper than many other zombie films.
