Caution: spoilers.
This was released theatrically in 2014, with the feature film Big Hero 6, but I didn't get to see it until 2017, when I got that movie on DVD (on which this short is a bonus feature). It was also included on the "Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection." The short uses the same combination of hand-drawn and CGI animation as Paperman. (I listed that one under both "animated shorts" and "CGI shorts", but for no particular reason I'm listing this one only under "CGI".)
Though it has no dialog, it's fairly easy to grasp the story. It's about a Boston Terrier named Winston, who starts out being fed dog food, but soon becomes accustomed to getting human food, which he absolutely loves. Then one day, he has to start eating healthier foods, which he hates. It took me maybe a little bit longer than it should have to realize why this change happened, but it becomes apparent that his owner has started dating a woman who changes the man's eating habits, which therefore also changes the dog's eating habits. Then one day, Winston and his owner go back to eating junk food, and Winston is thrilled... until he realizes his master is deeply depressed. When the dog figures out the reason for this, he sets out to restore his master's happiness, in a most selfless way. It really is a very touching story, with a very happy ending all around.
