Music reviews - rock & roll
TV Tropes; Wikipedia

This genre originated in the United States (and soon expanded globally, especially in the UK) in the late 1940s and early '50s, taking influences from blues, R&B, country, and folk music. It has evolved into various subgenres, including alternative, folk rock, heavy metal, progressive rock, punk, surf music, and many others. This section of my music reviews will include artists from both classic and modern eras of rock (and/or roll), but will exclude subgenres with their own sections (which I've linked to in this introduction). It may include soft rock, hard (non-metal) rock, and anything in between. (Many people may distinguish between "rock" and "rock & roll", while many others use them almost interchangeably. I am of the latter persuasion, in most instances.)
